Football Fan

Camden never had a chance to not like football. His daddy loves the sports and is now a coach also. So, Camden has grown up loving it too. Todd has had these miniature helmets of the SCC for a long time. They sat on a shelf in what we call the Tennessee room, our computer room. Camden has always wanted to play with them, but Todd has always said no. One day last fall, Todd took them down and let him play. I did think it was a bit strange until I realized there was an ulterior motive... Mizzou is now in the SCC, so his set was no longer complete. He has since started hunting down the larger size helmets on ebay.
But back to Camden, he loves playing with those little helmets. He calls some of the teams, meanies. We have no idea where he got this, but it is hilarious! He will play for a long time with his helmets and carries them around in a ziploc bag.
His favorite thing to do is play football with his Daddy. He will ask to put on his jersey(a Vols jersery, of course!) and say, Coach, I'm ready. Seriously, he calls his dad coach! I am usually the crowd and have to cheer when he makes a tackle or a touchdown.
So, to make a long story short, Camden and Todd were playing the snow the other day. They come to the door and tell me they have a great idea. They want to put on their Tennessee jerseys and tackle the snowman they just made. Well, who am I to stand in the way of a great idea?

Daddy, let's make a fort

Ever since Camden spent the night with Aunt Mickie and Uncle Adrian, he has talked about making a fort. What better way to spend a snow day morning? He loved it and we had fun off and on all day playing in the fort, even on top of the fort.

Snow in March?

Poor Camden is so confused. Their theme at preschool this week was spring, so we have talked a lot about the weather getting warmer and flowers blooming. On the way home from church today as it is snowing pretty hard, he says "It's winter outside." Yes, son, March 20 may have been the first day of spring, but in Missouri, it is currently still winter.
I have to say, though, today was one of the most fun days we have had in a while. Here's a look:
I love that Camden always asked before we play in the snow if I will make hot cocoa when we come in.

Nicholas Hunter

We had the blessing of watching Nicholas Hunter get baptized today. I still remember the day he was born. It has been so fun to watch him grow into the awesome kid he is today(although he told me he is now a preteen). We are so proud of him for taking this next step and Todd and I both were teary watching him this morning.
So thankful to Scott Holman, the children's pastor for pouring the Word into  Nick's life and  being such an encouragement to him.

We were a little worried that we would have to entertain Little Man because he probably wouldn't stay in their toddler class. So, I packed a fun bag to keep him quiet, but when Ms. Helen in the Lion class showed him they had Transformers, he was super excited and wanted to stay! He stayed the whole time and even told us on the way home, I want to go to that church again!

Our 9th Anniversary

For as long as I can remember at our house on Tenbrook, there was a wedding memory box on the counter in the kitchen. I loved looking at it and knew I wanted something similar when I got married someday. Here is what I created to hang in our hallway.

I love walking past it each day and thinking back to our wedding day. I thought it would be fun to list 9 memories I have from our wedding day to celebrate 9 years together.
  1. Hoping Todd didn't get over zealous in his kiss and mess my lipstick up(yes, I have always been a priss!)
  2. Thankful we decided to see each other before walking down the aisle-since I think both of us would have been a blubbering mess
  3. A headache halfway through the day because I had too many bobby pins in my hair
  4. Riding in the back of Bates' Buick to the reception and my dress almost not fitting in the backseat
  5. Not getting to eat a piece of our wedding cake because I was too busy socializing(shouldn't be much of a surprise...)
  6. Our DJ saying, "Let's hear it for Todd and Amy at our reception!" Seriously?
  7. Father/Daughter dance with my dad-realizing that this would probably be the one and only time he danced
  8. Mom almost swiping some icing off the wedding cake for the next reception after ours
  9. Sleeping in Todd's white t-shirt because I forgot to pack any pj's or lingerie in our small bag for the hotel

Weekend Wrap-up

I had the day off on Friday and since Camden had a bit of a stomach bug on Thursday, I didn't take him to school. Todd had a work day and Camden was a wee disappointed about not being able to go to school, so we decided to visit Daddy for lunch. Camden loved seeing Daddy's classroom and the cartoon paintings in the hallway.
On Saturday, the Bates' came over and we(Matt) grilled. Amanda is such a good little entertainer of Camden. They play so well together. We had such a good time and we are blessed to have them in our lives. We don't get together as often as we'd like, but when we do, we have such fun!
I cracked up when I walked in and these 2 had made themselves comfy to watch TV!

Hide, Hide!

Sometimes, I worry that I will forget all the cute things that Camden is doing at this age. We both read to him at night and he always wants to hide from whoever is reading next. It cracks me up that he never gets bored of this game. Every night, he will say "Hide, hide" and he will grab the blanket off his bed and cover himself up. Then, when Todd or I walk in, we play along and say, Where's Camden? Silly I know, but he cracks up EVERY time!

Dr. Seuss Week

Last week was Dr. Seuss week in Ms. Sue's class. Monday was hat day. Camden insisted that his Captain America mask was a hat and I figured it was not worth the fight. He also wanted to take all of his hats. Good thing he did because most classmates forgot, so he was able to share. Ms. Sue sent me these two pictures.
Tuesday was Bring 2 Things that Rhyme day. He took a duck and a truck.
Wednesday was Wacky Wednesday and Camden did NOT want to participate! He does not like his clothes mismatched or backwards. So particular!
Thursday was A Wocket in my Pocket day and of course, he wanted to take Captain America figurine. Then, Friday was Pajama Day. Ms. Leah sent me this picture of the kiddos acting crazy in their jammies.

SuperHeroes

I just never know who is going to come to my rescue on any given day...
