More strep...
I didn't know babies could get strep, but apparently so. Baby bear got sick at Carens today, so Mommy went to get him. He had been pretty cranky the past couple days and Emmy was diagnosed with strep on Monday. So, I called the doctor's office and they wanted to see him. Sure enough, he tested positive for strep. Poor little guy! Lots of snuggles for J Bear.

Ok, strep, you win...I give up!
Last Thursday, I woke up with a super swollen throat and knew immediately I probably had strep throat. So, I called in for a sub and headed to the take care clinic. Sure enough, strep test was positive, so I started on amoxicillin and thought within a day or two I'd be feeling better! Not so. By Sunday, I was worse and when Mom and Dad came down, they insisted Todd take me to the emergency room. I could barely swallow and was miserable! Apparently, the strep had turned into a tonsillar abcess. They gave me steroids, stronger antibiotics, nausea meds and fluids by IV and told me to schedule an appointment with an ear, nose and throat doctor. I saw Dr. Gould today and he lanced the tonsil abcess and it was the grossest thing I had ever smelled. The pain was pretty bad but I immediately felt relief. This momma so ready to be able to eat and drink like normal and to have my normal energy back. Taking care of three boys requires lots of energy!

Double whammy!
Jaden has a stomach bug, so Todd and I split taking the day off with him so that I could go to Camden's Valentine party. Well, I walked into his party and he immediately crawled into my lap and buried his head in my shoulder. :( He felt warm so I had Nurse Mandy take his temperature. Sure enough, 102.1. I called Daddy to come pick him up, since we thought Jaden was feeling a little better. Then, Jaden threw up all over himself and the carseat on the way home. Poor Daddy. I left school early and rushed home to help. Todd and I have been playing some serious man to man defense with both boys tonight. I am ready for spring!

Sick Baby Bear
Baby bear has been sick this week. :( Mommy, Grandma and Daddy have all stayed at home a day with him. The doctor thinks it roseola, which is a few days of high fever followed by a rash. You have been pretty miserable and just wanted to be held. It breaks my heart to see you sick.

Tough Little Cookie
Mommy's sweet boy has had a rough few days. Last week, he was fighting the same stomach bug as Daddy. Then, on Friday, he had his 4 month checkup and shots. Dr. Schnidman told us he had the beginning of double ear infections. To top it all off, he got a virus over the weekend and ran a fever. This momma will be glad when winter and its germs are GONE!

RSV = no fun
So, our littlest man has RSV and double ear infections. RSV is pretty common in infants with siblings that attend day care as Camden does. That being said, we aren't positive that's where he got it. One thing I do know is that I am glad we took him to the doctor today and got him started on antibiotics for the ear infections. RSV will just have to run it's course. We are praying that we can handle it here at home and that Jaden won't have to be treated in the hospital. God has brought us this far, and we will trust in Him.

More Sickness
Camden has not been sick much this winter, but wow, this week has been a doozy! We woke up yesterday morning to a 103.7 fever. I knew that on Day 5 of the flu, he should be getting better. I called Dr. Jackie and she wanted to see him.
Sure enough, he has pneumonia. Poor thing! She prescribed an antibiotic which just happens to be the same color as the Tamiflu(that made him throw up). Yikes! I knew that wasn't going to work, so I added a little red food coloring to make it pink. He still has a huge meltdown over taking it, but this evening, I outsmarted him by mixing it with some chocolate pudding.
I can't tell you how thankful I was this morning at 3:00 a.m. to put my hand on his forehead and it felt cool. Praise the Lord! I tried to go back to sleep and just kept thanking God for healing our sweet baby. He has been pretty miserable for almost a week and it has been so hard feeling helpless. When I left his room this morning to go back to bed, I got a glimpse of the true Camden. I said, "Night-night, precious boy." He said, "No call me that. Call me ladybug."Love him!
(He is also thrilled that he no longer has flat poop-that is what he called diarrhea). TMI-I know, but it cracked us up!

Flu Magnet
Poor Camden-he has Influenza A AGAIN this year. He was really sick last year and ran a fever for almost a week. Todd stayed at home with him on Thursday and ended up taking him to the doctor. Dr. Murawksi couldn't believe he tested positive again. He said wow, he must be a flu magnet and prescribed Tamiflu, but like last year, Camden threw up when he tried to take it. I tasted it and it is pretty awful stuff! Gramma Becky stayed at home with our boy today and cuddled with him. Here's a look at what I call Influenza Central:
