Polar Express Night

The Lil' Cat PTO hosted a fun night to watch Polar Express. Camden and Mommy had a Polar Express date night. We had popcorn, hot chocolate and cookies and lots of snuggle time in our pj's. I love making memories with my Little Man!

Third Grade Fun Day

I am very blessed to work with a great team of teachers. We get along well and have fun at work each day. We had a fun day hanging out at Regina's "farm" as we call it. It was a beautiful day-we had planned to swim but believe or not, it was too cold! Jaden and Kellen were happy babies and even napped in their strollers.

Summer School

Today, you started your first day of kindergarten...well,, sort of. It was the first day of summer school. You were very excited and did not cry at all. Mommy may or may not have cried a little after she left you in the cafeteria. I love Ms. Unger and knew you were in good hands.

Visiting Daddy

On Mommy's last day of maternity leave, we visited Daddy at work. All the ladies had been asking when they were going to meet Baby Jaden, so we figured a visit was in order. Daddy showed Jaden off to his colleagues and even a few students. It was so neat to watch the kids as they saw another side of tough Mr. Medley!

Back to school time

It's surprises like these that make my day! Todd had left this message for me hidden behind a poster while he was helping me in my room and I found it a few days later when I moved the poster. Then, Mom brought me this plant on our first work day this year. I am blessed to be loved by these two!

Prayers

As a elementary teacher and a mommy, last Friday's tragedy affected me deeply. We met as a staff this morning in a fellow teacher's classroom to pray for our school, our nation and the families affected by this sad event. I was blessed to see the number of teachers who came, even those who I am not sure are Christians, to pray. We also wore green and white to honor those 26 lives that were lost. I have many questions and no answers, but one thing I am confident of and that is this:
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Psalm 91
Please pass this on, and share with everyone. I made this as a way for people to remember the 26 names of those that matter most, not the 1 name the media chooses to exploit.

A New School Year

Yikes! Where did the summer go? I have thoroughly enjoyed being off, especially spending time with my boys, but I always get excited for a new school year! I love redecorating my classroom, seeing all the school supplies at the stores and getting ready to try all the new ideas I found on Pinterest and teacher blogs. Here is my 3rd grade room at Pevely Elementary for this year:

Todd also starts a new year at a new place. He is a Hillsboro Hawk! He will be teaching special education, co-teaching in Science and Social Studies at Hillsboro High. He would be mortified if I came and took pictures of his room, so this is the best I could do. HA!

Camden will be in Ms. Sue's class at Victory Childrens' Center this year and he is very excited about her room. He tells me there are Legos and monster trucks in there! I know he will have another amazing year at Victory and learn so many new things.
