6 Month Pictures

Sweet boy

Mrs. Huskey was subbing for Ms. Unger the same week Mommy subbed in kindergarted for summer school. She sent me this picture of you at nap time. I LOVE pictures of my boys sleeping.

PS This blanket and pillow was made for Nick when he was in preschool and is now yours and will be Jadens as well. I love using things that all the cousins have shared.

Back at the NICU

While we were in Kansas City, we took a trip back to the NICU to visit. They told us when we left to please come back-they love seeing their babies as they grow! We were able to see Dr. Ola and one of our cardiac nurses. They were so excited to see how much Jaden has grown and to hear how healthy he is(no heart surgery). It was so different and such an awesome feeling walking in to the hospital with Jaden knowing we were going to walk back out with him in just a few minutes. God has been so good to our family!

Adoption Finalization

Jaden's adoption was final on June 20th, 2014! He is officially Jaden Joseoh Gage Medley, even though we have always thought of him that way. Papa, Grandma and Camden were supposed to join us in Kansas City, but Camden was sick with a fever at the last minute. So, it was just the three of us. The Family Court is very busy in Jackson County, so we were glad to be the 2nd case on the docket for that day. We spent a short 8 minutes in the courtroom, but it was 8 very important minutes. Todd and I both shed tears as we shared how much the last 6 months have changed our lives and promised to be the best parents we can be to our sweet Jaden. The commissioner's wife started a tradition of ringing a bell over the intercom when any adoption becomes final. So, we happily rang that bell. Happy Finalization Day, Jaden!

Camden's Tball Debut

Camden played his first season of tball for the YMCA this summer. His coach was Adam Dixon who teaches at Mommy's school. He knew Chase Goodwin and Dane Dixon from school. He loved it and went after the ball every time! It was a great season.

A week in kindergarten=a new camera

Now, this may sound like an easy deal. But let me assure you, it was not! I have been wanting a new camera for a long time. After the camera fiasco at Camden's preschool graduation, I decided I wanted to start praying and saving money. Well, God works in amazing ways! My principal called and asked if I was interested in subbing a week in kindergarten during summer school. Anyone who knows me knows kindergarten is not my comfort zone. But subbing for those five days would be enough to buy a new camera. So, I thought-I have a degree and it is just summer school, yep I can do it! Here's a few things I learned this week:
1. I respond to, "Teacher, teacher, teacher" just as easily as "Mrs. Medley."
2. It takes approximately 15-20 minutes to take a class of pre-kindergarteners to the restroom.
3. Camden will NOT wear shoes that tie until HE is able to tie them.
4.  I was patted, tapped, groped, more than I ever have been in that week.
5. Kindergarteners tattle WAAAAAY more than 3rd graders.
6. I love teaching, no matter what the age.
7. You should use bottle glue with kindergarteners as little as possible.
8. Kindergarten teachers are amazing!

Summer School

Today, you started your first day of kindergarten...well,, sort of. It was the first day of summer school. You were very excited and did not cry at all. Mommy may or may not have cried a little after she left you in the cafeteria. I love Ms. Unger and knew you were in good hands.

6 months

Our baby bear is already 6 months olds!! Camden wore this same outfit for his 6 month pictures, so of course, Mommy wanted Jaden to wear it too. Such a happy boy!

At six months you are rolling over, but only from belly to back still. You can roll form your back to your belly with a little help. You have discovered a new toy-your toes! They are all you want to play with when we work on sitting up. You know that when we put you in your high chair and put on your bib, food is coming. You are laughing so much. Camden rubs his face on your belly and you just cackle!
You have started to arch your back and that makes it hard to get your clothes on and to get you in your car seat. You are quickly outgrowing your baby bathtub. Mommy borrowed a jumperoo seat for you from Regina at school. It is very similar to the horse you love so much at Caren's. You still drool ALL the time, but no teeth have come in yet.
You love the outside swing! You also really like to stand and jump while we hold onto you.
