Halloween

Camden was Peyton Manning/a Vols football player this year for Halloween.  It was raining, but we still had fun. We trick or treated in Crystal City with Lincoln and his family. Todd and the Hawks had a playoff game against Desoto, but Camden and Mommy decided we were too tired after trick or treating to go.

He's famous...

Todd and his undefeated Hawks were featured on stltoday.com for their undefeated season! Pretty awesome for a 2nd year coach!

The Hillsboro eighth-grade football team broke through into the next level of football with a 6-0 undefeated campaign and has been named this week’s Cardinals Featured Team of the Week.
The Hawks did not give much for the opponents to work with as the squad outscored opponents 258-48 through all six games.
With games against DeSoto, Festus, Windsor, Crystal City, Triad and Troy, the Hawks used just about every bit of its 41-man roster to overcome the opponents.
Two of the four games this season were road games for the Hawks, who play four eight-minute quarters on a regulation-size field. The highest offensive output for Hillsboro was a 54-6 win over Windsor a week before the defense helped shut out Crystal City with a 46-0 win.
Hillsboro and coach Todd Medley mirror the eighth-grade football program after the culture of the high school team and preach playing within the system.
“We were blessed to have some really good kids and some good athletes,” Medley said.

Trunk or Treat

We did Trunk or Treat at my school last night. Lincoln and Amanda joined us for the fun. Of course, since Camden was a Vols player, a football theme was the easiest way to decorate the trunk. All I did was grab stuff out of Todd's room. I knew all those purchases would come in handy someday! ha!
I thought this trunk was super cute!

But this idea was my favorite by far! Mom and Dad were graham crackers, the boy was the chocolate, the baby was a marshmellow and their trunk was the campfire. How cute is that?!?!

Overnight Visit

Camden had an overnight stay with Uncle Adrian and Aunt Mickie this weekend. He could not wait to leave. I took this picture because he kept saying, "Let's go, Aunt Mickie!"
They went to Grant's Farm and of course, he talked them into a stop by Wal-Mart. He is so lucky to have them in his life! Todd and I are blessed because they take such good care of our sweet boy so we can have time together as a couple. We enjoyed a beautiful and relaxing day in Grafton with the Bates'.
Thanks, Aunt Mickie for the pictures!

Jack-o-Lanterns

This year, Camden was brave enough to stick his hand in the pumpkin to help scoop out the goo and seeds. As you can see, he was cracking us up and talking a mile a minute! He was so excited and said, "Mommy, now we can make pumpkin pie, right?!" Uh-no, buddy, that's not exactly how it works! ha! But something tells me he and I are going to be baking a pumpkin pie soon-which will be no hardship for this momma since it's my favorite! Camden drew his own face on the little pumpkin and Daddy carved it for him. He told Daddy what to draw on the large pumpkin. I think they turned out pretty good!

A smile

I got this note today in my mailbox at school and it made me smile. So, tomorrow I will pass the fun along and make someone else's day.

Pumpkin Patch 2013

So, Stuckmeyers was a little too crowded for our gang on Sunday, but we did get some cute pictures. Of course, our pumpkins are not purchased at the patch, but rather, for a very reasonable price, at Aldi!
And just because the next three pictures make me smile, here they are....the attempt at a family picture. Pay close attention to the four and a half year old in the last picture. :) Todd and I couldn't help but laugh!

An undefeated season

Tonight wrapped up the 8th grade football season. The moms had a pizza party for the team and coaches. We watched a highlight video and Todd passed out awards. I am very proud of him for this season. Yes, they were undefeated, but more than that-he truly cares for each and every one of those players. And I can tell, they in return, respect Coach Medley a great deal. One of the parents was telling me that a group of the boys comes over pretty often and that from their conversations-they really like your husband. My little heart just swelled with pride! That's my hubby, ladies! He's all mine!

Bonfire Party

Saturday night was perfect bonfire weather! We celebrated Grant's birthday with the Sucharski's at their annual bonfire. There was enough food to feed an army and so many desserts to choose from. And then, what's a bonfire without s'mores? The kids loved the hayrides and pretty much just ran amuck the whole time. It was a fun night with friends!
