Lincoln's Bowling Party

I just love these two best buddies!
Lincoln's birthday is exactly 1 month and 2 days after Camden's-on Valentine's Day, in fact. His party was at the bowling alley this year. Camden had never been bowling, so this was a first! He did really good except with waiting his turn. So, the games I have on my phone came in handy. I love that the boys still love each other and get along so well. It helps us that Rachel and Matt are fun too! :)

Happy Valentine's Day

I have a student teacher currently, so I was able to sneak away for a while to go to Camden's Valentine's party. He was super excited that I could come. His class was so good. They played games, did centers, had carpet time, exchanged Valentines and then had lunch.

Feeling creative

I asked Camden what he wanted for his Valentine box and he said a monster. He picked one off Pinterest and I made it using supplies in my classroom. I think it turned our pretty cute.
I had picked up Fun Dip for him to give his classmates as Valentines. But of course, I couldn't resist making them cuter. Here are his Valentines for this year:

Your "Collection"

Oh, Camden, you crack us up with the things you say. Tonight, you wanted all your bouncy balls. So, we found them or as many as we could. You looked up at me and said, "This is my collection." I couldn't believe it. I asked you who taught you that word and you said Ms. Sue. I just love her! I can't believe how much you remember and how smart you are. You wanted to take your balls to bed with you, but we said no, that they were too little. So you took the heart candle off this dish and used it to hold your " collection." Then, before I closed your door tonight, you said, "I take my collection of balls to school tomorrow to show Ms. Sue."
My sweet son, you make my heart melt with the things you say. Mommy loves you!

Transformers

Gamma picked up Camden from school this week and of course, they went to McDonald's per Camden's request. He got a Transformer toy in his Happy Meal and came home asking to collect all of them. Well, I enlisted the help of everyone, including my class. Ethan, one is my kiddos, brought in Optimus Prime and Aunt Beth brought Breakdown and Bumblebee down tonight. He was thrilled! So, now we are on the hunt for the last two.
I noticed when looking at these pictures that Camden's hair is messed up in the same spot every time. Not so sure about keeping his hair long... :)

The Wonder Vac

Seeing Todd so excited about using this vacuum cleaner reminds me of a funny story from last year. So, last fall, some gentlemen came to our door offering to clean our carpets for free. Camden and Todd were playing in the backyard. I thought it was great idea since our carpets were in need of cleaning. All that was required was that we listen to their speel on buying a Kirby vacuum. Well, they asked if they could train a new guy and somehow, the hour long process turned in going on 2 hours and 15 minutes. Needless to say, we listened (and let them clean our living room and hallway) and then kindly told them we were not interested. Yes, even for 50 dollars a month we are NOT interested. Their key selling point was do you choose dirt or do you choose the Kirby. The guy kept saying, "So, you choose dirt?" I had finally had enough of saying no nicely, so I said Well, if we have to choose then, yes-we choose dirt over DEBT! That shut him up pretty quick and we were finally rid of them! I think Todd will be very unhappy if I allow anything like that again. He was appalled that I had let them come in our house to begin with. Camden talked about the vacuum men for quite a while after they left and he was quite disappointed that they didn't let us keep the cool vacuum attachments.
So, thanks Bates' family, for letting us borrow your amazing Rainbow vacuum cleaner. I am sure it rates up there with the Kirby! I wouldn't know because I never got the chance to use it....

YouTube Reviews?

Camden has a new favorite past-time-watching Transformer toy reviews on Youtube. We actually found them by mistake. He was sitting on my lap and I was looking for a Transformers episode for him to watch. I accidentally clicked on a review and he has been hooked ever since. As soon as we get home each afternoon, he asks, " Can I watch something on your computer?" He would watch them over and over if we let him!
