Welcome, Little Man!

Aunt Beth hosted Jaden's welcome shower with a Little Man mustache theme. She and I had way too much fun on Pinterest finding everything mustache. Jaden was a perfect angel all afternoon and let everyone snuggle on him. We got many letters for his alphabet wall in his nursery and lots of awesome presents. Jaden is one very loved little man!

Six Week Stats

Weight: 8 lbs 14.5 oz (50%th percentile)
Height: 21 and 1/2 in (75%th percentile)

About you at six weeks: (You had RSV at one month and things were still quite crazy, so Mommy didn't post about you at 1 month.)
You are eating 2 and 1/2 ounces of Similac NeoSure formula every 3 hours. Just like your brother, you have your share of gas pains and we frequently give you Mylicon drops. This is probably due in part to the fact that you are NOT a good burper.
You sleep better during the day than you do at night and we hoping to fix that before Mommy has to go back to work. You got used to sleeping upright in your carseat while you were sick and don't like to lay on your back to sleep.
You are very alert when you are awake. You definitely know the sound of Mommy's voice and try so hard to focus on our faces. You love the sound of running water and if we can't calm you down,  we turn on the sink or shower. You have started to coo, and Grandma just can't wait for you to smile. You smile during sleep, but not at our voices yet.
You make these funny snorting noises, especially after you eat and you get the hiccups ALOT. But they don't seem to bother you. You are still very good natured. You do hate to have your diaper changed though and do NOT like being naked.
Grandma went with you and Mommy to your 6 week appointment. After the nurse weighed you, you were pretty unhappy. Grandma sang you to and you watched her so close. She is so good at soothing you. I have nicknamed her Super Grammy.

3+1=4

November 2013
So, this jump from a family of 3 to 4 has thrown me for a loop. I didn't really expect the adjustment to be this hard. I struggle to split my time equally between Camden and Jaden, while still being a good wife to Todd. But I keep reminding myself this is a season and will be gone before I know it-so I will try to take the time to enjoy it while it is here. I am now a mommy to 2 boys and am outnumbered in my house. But I love my little family and am blessed!

Camden is 5?!

I cannot believe this sweet boy is five! I remember getting the call that we were matched like it were yesterday. I love the boy that he has become and he brings us such joy on a daily basis. This year, he requested a Angry Birds Star Wars party. I will admit with Jaden's arrival, Mommy slacked a bit this year, but a week of snow days gave me the extra time I needed to pull his party off. Camden loved it and that's all that matters! Happy 5th Birthday, Mommy's boy! We love you.

Friends Reunited

Todd took Little Man to the Hillsboro vs. Herky boys basketball game last night. And look who was there? Our old friend, Macy Moo! Sherry, Macy's mom, sent this picture to me with the caption, "Old friends reunited". They played together the whole time and had great fun!

Overcomer

Camden's favorite song on Joy FM right now is Overcomer by Mandesa and he particularly likes the phrase"stay in the fight til the final round". Todd tweeted about him being a typical boy and liking that part the other day and Mandesa actually responded to this tweet! Pretty cool. We have watched the video on youtube many times. Grandma was bringing him home yesterday and said he was almost asleep when "his song" came on the radio and he perked right up! Tonight, he asked me to sing the song before bed. I did pretty good, but told him we need to practice a little more.

RSV = no fun

So, our littlest man has RSV and double ear infections. RSV is pretty common in infants with siblings that attend day care as Camden does. That being said, we aren't positive that's where he got it. One thing I do know is that I am glad we took him to the doctor today and got him started on antibiotics for the ear infections. RSV will just have to run it's course. We are praying that we can handle it here at home and that Jaden won't have to be treated in the hospital. God has brought us this far, and we will trust in Him.
