C's First Dentist Visit

We had talked about this visit to the dentist office for a while now. We even watched Caillou go to the dentist and saw how brave he was. Camden was excited! He played happily in the waiting room and loved the ocean theme decor.
And then they called his name... As soon as we walked in the room, he clung to my leg and refused to sit in the chair. The nurse was very patient, as I am sure she has to be on a daily basis in a pediatric dentistry. She calmly got our Mr. Horse and asked Camden to count his teeth. He happily complied and liked using the little mirror.
All seemed to be going well until they asked him to lay down. He hates being laid down. I know this from previous experience at the doctor's office. He will do anything you ask sitting up, but make him lay down and you better watch out!
He did eventually let Dr. L count his teeth and look at them, but big crocodile tears rolled down his cheeks the whole time. And Mommy had to hold his hands the whole time. I was very surprised he even let Dr. L "paint" his teeth with fluoride.
When they finally let him get up, he clung to me again! But when the nurse mentioned toys and a new tooth brush, he was all ears! He spent so long choosing a toy, I finally had to count.
Dr. L said C's teeth look good and he would see us again this summer. I would have to say overall, Camden's first visit to the dentist was a success!
